Maliki asserts keenness to develop ties with Russia

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki asserted on Wednesday his keenness to develop relations with Russia in energy, oil and armament fields. This came during his meeting at his office in Baghdad with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Sultanov and his accompanying delegation. “The premier reiterated his call to Russian companies to work in the country and to take part in reconstruction operations,” according to a statement released by his office received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The meeting tackled also a joint investment conference between Iraqi and Russian businessmen to increase cooperation in economic fields,” it added.
