National housing policy for Iraq drafted

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Ministry of Housing and Construction has finished its draft of a national housing policy, which it said is part of a larger project to strengthen the capacity of the housing sector in the country. “Following thorough discussions during a two-day workshop at Baghdad’s al-Rasheed Hotel, the ministry has made its final amendments to the National Housing Policy draft,” a senior under-secretary of state in the ministry, Istabrak al-Shouk, said in a statement released by the ministry and received by IraqiNews.com news agency. The draft is part of a project to improve the capacity of the housing sector in Iraq, conducted by the ministry in cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Program in Iraq, the statement indicated.
