Talabani, British PM discuss political, economic relations

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani discussed in London on Friday with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown means to develop bilateral political and economic relations, according to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) web site. Talabani met with Brown at 10 Downing Street in London, where he arrived on Thursday for talks on means to boost political and bilateral relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom as well as Britain’s participation in Iraqi development and reconstruction process and support for Iraq’s current political process, Talabani’s PUK site said. The Iraqi president is expected to attend a ceremony to be held in London for military and personnel and civilians who served in Iraq. The ceremony, to be attended by Queen Elizabeth II and other royal family members, is scheduled to be held at St. Paul Cathedral to mark the end of the combat operation in Iraq. AmR (P) 1
