THI-QAR / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi-U.S. security cooperation in Thi-Qar will continue as per the two countries’ strategic pact, the Thi-Qar operations commander – General Sabah al-Fatlawi said on Saturday. “The Iraqi police in Thi-Qar and U.S. troops in the province are committed to the items of the Iraq-U.S. security pact,” a release issued by the Thi-Qar police directorate and received by IraqiNews.com news agency quoted General Fatlawi saying. He stressed that the Oct. 7, 2009 incident, which occurred in Sayyid Dkhel district (17 km northeastern Nassiriya) when American forces intervened in a military operation without notifying the Iraqi side, will never affect what the Iraqis and Americans have started in Thi-Qar within different levels.
