10 arrested on criminal, terror charges in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Police personnel on Monday captured 10 wanted persons on criminal and terror-related charges during a security operation in Basra province, according to a local security source. “Basra police forces conducted a search raid in Shatt al-Arab area (eastern Basra) and al-Basra al-Qadeema area (downtown Basra), during which 10 wanted men were arrested, including two on terror charges,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Meanwhile, the local police command said that a security conference has been held under the chairmanship of the deputy police chief, Brig. Idan Jabr, to assess the security situation in the province.
