6 soldiers suspended following armed robbery

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Six Iraqi soldiers have been suspended due to their alleged negligence in preventing an armed robbery in Baghdad. “Those suspended include a checkpoint commander who has the rank of a lieutenant,” a spokesperson for the Baghdad Operations Command (BOC), Maj. Gen. Qassem Ata, told IraqiNews.com news agency. “An armed group committed an armed robbery at jewelry shops in al-Jawadeen neighborhood,” Ata explained. “Three jewelers, two civilians, a woman and her child were killed during the attack,” he added.
