Erdogan to hold meeting with parliament’s chairmanship – official

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will hold a  private meeting with the parliament’s chairmanship on Thursday to discuss issues of common interest, a media official said. “The premier will hold a private meeting with the parliament’s chairmanship to discuss bilateral relations and to benefit from the Turkish experience to develop Iraq’s parliamentary work,” the official, who asked for anonymity, told IraqiNews.com news agency. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan had arrived in Baghdad earlier Thursday in a one-day official visit to Iraq, where he will sign a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding to foster ties between the two countries. The official spokesman for the Iraqi government, Ali al-Dabbagh, had said yesterday that Erdogan will pay a one-day official visit to Baghdad on Wednesday (Oct. 15), during which he will meet with President Jalal Talabani and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
