Senior al-Qaeda leader arrested in Ninewa

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Police forces arrested a senior al-Qaeda leader in Ninewa for his involvement in the Talafar bombings in 2007, where hundreds were killed or wounded, a security source said. “Quick Response forces arrested on Wednesday (Oct. 14) in a hospital in central Mosul, Moussa Zalou, al-Qaeda leader, who is suspected of killing scores of civilians and security elements in Talafar and Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “He was undergoing a surgery in a hospital in Mosul and was transferred to Talafar public hospital under tight security,” he added. A truck bomb went off on March 27 in 2007 in Talafar, 60 km northwest of Mosul,  killing and injuring 250 persons and destroying 150 houses, according to security sources.
