Senior al-Qaeda leader arrested in Ninewa

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Police forces arrested a senior al-Qaeda leader in Ninewa for his involvement in the Talafar bombings in 2007, where hundreds were killed or wounded, a security source said. “Quick Response forces arrested on Wednesday (Oct. 14) in a hospital in central Mosul, Moussa Zalou, al-Qaeda leader, who is suspected of killing scores of civilians and security elements in Talafar and Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “He was undergoing a surgery in a hospital in Mosul and was transferred to Talafar public hospital under tight security,” he added. A truck bomb went off on March 27 in 2007 in Talafar, 60 km northwest of Mosul,  killing and injuring 250 persons and destroying 150 houses, according to security sources. Mosul, the capital of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. SH (P) /SR 2
