Suicide attack leaves 94 casualties in Talafar

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: At least 14 persons were killed and 80 others were wounded in a suicide bombing attack targeting a mosque in northern Talafar on Friday, according to local police chief. “A suicide bomber, wearing an explosive belt, opened fire at Sheikh Abdulsattar Hussein Alou, the Imam and Sheikh of al-Taqwa mosque and one of the Talafar court’s judges, in northern Talafar, before blowing himself up among prayers, killing 14 and injuring 80,” Colonel Hadi Ubeid told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The wounded were sent to the Mosul’s hospitals for treatment,” a medical source said, noting that 20 wounded persons were in critical condition. Talafar is 60 km northwest of Mosul, the capital of Ninewa, which lies 405 km north of Baghdad. SH (P) 2
