Parl. Speaker meets legal committee

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Parliament Speaker Iyad al-Samarraie held a meeting on Monday with members of the legal committee to discuss the election law, a lawmaker from the Kurdistan Alliance (KA) bloc said. “Samarraie held the meeting with the legal committee in the presence of representatives of political blocs to discuss the law on election,” Ahmed Anwar, a committee member, told IraqiNews.com news agency. Anwar did not give further details about the meeting. Iraq’s legislative elections are scheduled to be held in January 2010. AmR (P) 1
