Hostage released, abductor nabbed in Tikrit

SALAH EL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: Sahwa (Awakening) forces released a kidnapped person and arrested one of his abductors in an area east of Tikrit city, a source from the force said on Wednesday. “The operation that occurred yesterday evening (Oct. 20) at al-Alam area, east of Tikrit, was carried out in coordination with police forces,” the force’s commander, Sheikh Wanass Naji al-Jabara, told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that the force arrested one of the victim’s abductors. “The two other kidnappers escaped to nearby farms,” Sheikh al-Jabara said.
