U.S. diplomat in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani will meet on Friday evening in Baghdad with U.S. permanent delegate to the UN, Ambassador Susan Rice, according to an Iraqi presidential release. “President Talabani will meet Ambassador Rice, who will be accompanied by a high-ranking U.S. diplomatic delegation,” read a statement by Talabani’s office as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. The statement did not give further details. Rice was in Israel, where she had talks with Israeli officials regarding the Goldstone report that accused Israel of having committed war crimes during the onslaught on the Gaza Strip. AmR (P) 1
