VP calls to open investigations into repeated security violations

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Vice President Adel Abdulmahdi condemned on Sunday the recent bombing attacks in Baghdad, calling to open an urgent investigation into the repeated security violations in fortified regions, according to a statement from his office. A police source had said casualties from the two suicide explosions that targeted the government’s buildings in Baghdad rose again to 132 dead and 500 wounded. Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki toured the blast sites later on in the day, vowing to punish those stand behind the attacks. SH (P)/SR 1
