Rocket lands in south Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: A rocket landed south of the city of Kirkuk on Thursday but did not explode, a source from the city’s Joint Coordination Center (JCS) said. “An unidentified rocket landed in the area of Huzayran 1 but did not explode,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Al-Adala police station patrols and personnel from the criminal investigations department and the bomb squad rushed to the site and removed it,” the source added. The oil-rich Kirkuk, a city of mixed Kurdish, Arab and Turkmen population, lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
