Governor urges Turkish firms to invest in Missan

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: Missan governor Mohammed Shayya’a al-Sudani said on Sunday that the called on Turkish companies to invest in the province. “During a meeting with the Turkish trade minister and businessmen accompanying him at the Iraqi-Turkish Economic Forum, that was held in the southern city of Basra, I invited Turkish firms to invest in the province, one of the safest Iraqi provinces,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Also during the meeting, Shayya’a handed over the industrial oil city project to the Turkish trade minister. “If finalized, this project is one of the important that could contribute to enhancing the economic conditions in the province,” he added. Turkish Foreign Trade Minister Zafer Caglayan was a member of the delegation that visited Basra on Friday (Oct. 30) under Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. Caglayan had said that boosting trade cooperation between Iraq and Turkey would help strengthen bilateral relations. The province of Missan lies 390 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P)/SR 1
