Jaish al-Rashideen member nabbed in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Police forces have arrested a member of the so-called “Jaish al-Rashideen” in Kirkuk province, an informed source said on Sunday. “During an early hour on Thursday (Oct. 29) morning, personnel from al-Toon Kobri checkpoint arrested a former Baghdad resident, who is currently living on al-Jumhouriya St., Kirkuk,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The man belongs to the so-called ‘Jaish al-Rashideen’ group and has been involved in several terrorist operations all over Baghdad, Diala and Kirkuk,” the source noted. “He has been handed over to the Criminal Investigations Department,” he added. The Jaish al-Rashideen group is a Sunni Iraqi insurgent group that has been operating in Iraq since the middle of 2003. Since then the group has carried out multiple attacks against coalition forces, using IED’s, and firing rockets and mortar bombs. Kirkuk, an oil-rich and mixed city of Kurds, Turkmen, Christians and Arabs, lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SS (P) 1
