Maliki, French official announce al-Furat al-Awsat Airport designs

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Monday met with the French minister of state for foreign trade, Anne-Marie Idrac, to sign a note marking the unveiling of the designs for al-Furat al-Awsat Airport. “Maliki has stressed his government’s keenness to develop relations with France in the fields of economy, trade, transportation, oil and energy,” according to a statement released by Maliki’s media office and received by IraqiNews.com news agency. Maliki urged the French official to meet with representatives of the Iraqi National Investment Commission to learn about the amendments that have been made to the Investment Law, which he said would provide a good opportunity for foreign companies and businessmen willing to invest in Iraq.
