2 Iraqi soldiers wounded in clashes with U.S. patrol
BABEL / IraqiNews.com: Two Iraqi servicemen on Saturday were killed and a third was arrested during clashes with a U.S. patrol near Hilla, according to a local police source. “Clashes occurred between an Iraqi checkpoint personnel and a U.S. patrol in Imam Ways area, Jorf al-Sakhar district (60 km northwest of Hilla), during which hand grenades and light weapons were used,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Two soldiers were injured; while a third, ranked Corporal, was arrested,” the source indicated. The source did not reveal the reasons behind the clashes, or whether casualties were reported to the U.S. side. “Leaks say that one U.S. soldier was killed in the clashes, but this has not been confirmed,” the source added.
