11 men nabbed near Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Eleven persons, including wanted men, on Sunday were arrested during search raids near Kirkuk, according to a local police chief. “On Sunday, personnel from Huweija and Taza police and the Multi-National Force (MNF) carried out a search raid along Huweija’s borders (65 km southwest of Kirkuk),” Brig. Sarhad Qadir told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Eleven persons were captured during the operation, which was based on intelligence tips,” the official noted. Kirkuk, an oil-rich and mixed city of Kurds, Turkmen, Arabs and Christians, lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SS (P) 1
