157 Christians, Shabak, Yazedis killed in Ninewa in 2 months

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Human Rights Watch announced on Tuesday that the Christian, Shabak and Yazedis minorities in Ninewa have become victims of the conflict between the Kurdistan regional cabinet and the federal government in Baghdad over disputed areas in that province. “The previous two months of Sept. and Oct., 2009, witnessed the killing of 157 persons of those minorities in Ninewa,” Thamir al-Miskatee, a research director from the Human Rights Watch, said in a press conference in Arbil attended by IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that around 500 others were wounded within the same area and period. Al-Miskatee accused “radical Sunni Arabs” of the killings. MH (P)/SR 1
