Foreign investors tackle projects in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Representatives of foreign companies have discussed with Basra’s investment commission the possibility of carrying out projects in the province, an informed source said on Thursday. “A delegation comprised of directors and representatives of British and Chinese firms has arrived in Basra to conduct diverse investment projects,” the deputy head of the commission, Jalal Nouri Tema, told IraqiNews.com news agency. The projects include a rehabilitation of Basra International Airport and the opening of new air routes, Tema indicated. The Shiite province of Basra lies 590 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
