Talabani donates ID50m to trade unions

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani donated 50 million Iraqi dinars (ID) to the general federation of trade unions, stressing the importance of “backing and responding to the legitimate demands of the working class,” according to a presidential release on Friday. “Talabani met on Friday with a delegation representing the federation and listened to its demands of having the new labor law accelerated,” read the release as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “Talabani expressed unflinching support for the objectives the federation is struggling for and donated ID50 million (roughly $42,000) to meet the federation’s needs,” it added.
