8 servicemen killed, wounded in Baghdad blast

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Two Iraqi soldiers on Monday were killed and six others were injured in an explosive charge blast in the capital Baghdad, the Iraqi police said. “Unknown gunmen planted an improvised explosive device (IED) near the concrete barriers close to an army checkpoint in al-Mansour neighborhood, western Baghdad,” a police source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The blast killed two soldiers, wounded six others and caused damage to two civilian vehicles, according to the source. “Security forces sealed off the scene of the blast and rushed the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment,” the source added.
