Rural road constructed near Diwaniya

DIWANIYA / IraqiNews.com: A state-run Iraqi company has completed work on an eight-kilometer-long road south of Diwaniya province at a cost of 1.8 billion Iraqi dinars, a local official said on Saturday. “The Housing Ministry’s State Company for Designs and Industrial Investment has completed work on Al Hamad road, which is eight kilometers long and six meters wide as part of the provincial development plan for the year 2007,” the head of the contracts department in the province, Jaafar al-Hamdawi, told IraqiNews.com news agency. Work on the project has stopped for more than six months due to technical and financial reasons, Hamdawi noted. Diwaniya, the capital city of Diwaniya province, lies 180 km south of Baghdad. SS (P) 1
