2 arrested on charges of IED bombing attack south of Amara

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: The police on Sunday arrested two on charges of involvement in an improvised explosive device attack south of al-Amara city, according to the Missan police assistant chief. “A force from the Missan police captured two on suspected involvement in planting an IED that targeted an Iraqi military convoy in the district of al-Kahlaa on Sunday (Nov. 22),” Col. Sadeq Abdulazim told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The operation was conducted after a vehicle coming from Kahlaa was searched and found to be containing materials used in home-making explosive charges,” he added. Earlier on Sunday, a security source told IraqiNews.com that an IED went off near an Iraqi military convoy in Kahlaa, (18 km) south of Amara, but left no casualties.
