8 Tikrit University students, staff arrested

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: Police forces arrested six students, three professors and one employee of the Tikrit University after seven explosive devices had been found on campus, a source from the university said on Tuesday. “On Monday (Nov. 23), seven improvised explosive devices (IED) were found in different parts of the campus,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The university was evacuated yesterday as a precaution, the source pointed out. Yesterday, a police source said that a bomb detonated near the Students’ Center and in front of the university’s Faculty of Engineering, wounding one female student and causing panic among other students. Tikrit, the capital city of Salah al-Din province, lies 175 km north of Baghdad. SS (P) 2
