Debaathification should not be politicized – Kurdish PM

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The regional Prime Minister of the Iraqi Kurdistan region on Tuesday expressed his concern that some political entities have been excluded from the country’s upcoming parliamentary election race due to claims of having an affiliation to the Baath party. He said that the Accountability and Justice (Debaathification) Law should not be politicized. “The Accountability and Justice Law should be outside of political considerations, and should not become a tool to exclude one side or another,” Saleh said. He said that the foundation principle should be national reconciliation to achieve the greatest possible participation of Iraqis in the ongoing political process. MH (P)/SR 1
