Civilian wounded in blast near Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: A civilian man was wounded in an improvised explosive device blast southwest of Kirkuk on Saturday, according to the Kirkuk Districts’ Police Department (KDPD) chief. “The IED went off near the civilian man’s vehicle inside al-Zab district, (85 km) southwest of Kirkuk, Saturday morning, leaving him critically wounded and the vehicle severely damaged,” Brig. Sarhad Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The man, according to initial reports, is working for a security agency,” Qader added, not giving further details. The oil-rich Kirkuk, a city of mixed Arab, Turkmen and Kurdish population, lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 2
