Kidnapped farmer released in Talafar

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: The gunmen who had kidnapped a farmer in a village in northern Talafar district last week released him on Sunday, a security source in Ninewa province said. “Unidentified gunmen had intercepted a civilian vehicle carrying a farmer in the village of al-Borgholiya, al-Ayadiya district, (13 km) northern Talafar, western Mosul city, and led him to an unknown place,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The security forces raided the site of his kidnapping but could not find a trace of him,” the source said, adding “the shooting heard on Sunday evening was in jubilation over the farmer’s release”. The source did not give further details. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P)/SR 2
