Al-Hashemi to head for Washington later this month

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi said on Monday that he will head for Washington later this month in response to an official invitation, according to a presidential statement. This came at a joint press conference he had with Head of Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim. “I will pay a visit to the United states by the end of the running month in response to an official invitation sent to me,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency, quoting al-Hashemi as saying. “I will meet with Adel Abdulmahdi to review the files he tackled in Washington,” the vice president added.
