Officer, civilian wounded in Baghdad blast

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi army officer and a civilian were wounded in an explosive charge blast in downtown Baghdad, a police source said on Monday. “A sticky improvised explosive device (IED) detonated inside a civilian Land cruiser driven by an army lieutenant in al-Allawi area, downtown Baghdad, wounding the officer and a civilian who was close to the scene of the blast,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The blast caused damage to the vehicle, the source noted. “Security forces sealed off the scene of the blast and rushed the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment,” the source added. SS (P) 2
