Basra governor discusses in Kuwait investment opportunities

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Basra Governor Shaltagh Abboud al-Myah discussed on Tuesday with Speaker of the Kuwaiti Umma Council (parliament), Jassem al-Khurafi, ways of beefing up relations between the two countries and encouraging Kuwaiti investments in Basra, according to a statement. “The Kuwaiti parliament asserted its keenness to bolster ties with Iraq and mainly with Basra,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “Al-Khurafi underlined that the country will send a number if investors and businessmen soon to invest in Basra,” the statement highlighted. “Iraq is keen on extending bridges of amity and friendship with the State of Kuwait,” al-Myah had said at a joint news conference with Kuwait’s Al-Ahmadi Governor Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Duaij Al-Sabah.
