Talafar council demands protection for members

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: The Talafar council on Tuesday demanded that the security authorities secure the local council’s members after receiving information on possible attacks against them. “The council has received intelligence information on al-Qaeda group’s plans to assassinate a number of their figures, including the council’s chairman and its members,” Mohammad Abdulqader, the council’s secretary, told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The council hosted today (Jan. 19) Commander of the 10th brigade of the 3rd division of the Iraqi army, Brigadier Abdulrahman Hanthal, and discussed with him facilitating ways to protect the council’s members and facilitate their movements in the city,” he added.
