Kuwaiti consulate in Basra under discussion

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The governor of Basra has met with the Kuwaiti foreign minister to discuss the opening of a Kuwaiti consulate in the southern province, according to an official statement. “Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed al-Sabah received Basra Governor Shaltagh Abboud al-Mayah and his accompanying delegation, who are currently on a visit to Kuwait in response to an invitation from the governor of al-Ahmadi City,” read the statement that was received by IraqiNews.com news agency. The two officials discussed means of boosting cooperation between the local government in Basra and Kuwait in a way that serves the interests of both sides, the statement pointed out. The Kuwaiti minister has revealed his government’s plans to open a consulate in Basra and to build a specialized hospital there, the statement indicated.
