Ninewa police defuse car bomb in central Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Police forces defused on Wednesday a car bomb in central Mosul, according to a security source. “Anti-explosives squad managed this morning (Jan. 20) to defuse a car bomb in Dawasa Khareg region, central Mosul, one hour after a suicide bomber detonated a car bomb in eastern Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The car was loaded with 40kg of TNT,” he noted, asserting that the experts defused the car bomb without casualties. A police source had said earlier that 27 people, including army soldiers and policemen, were wounded in a car bomb blast in eastern Mosul. Mosul, the capital of Ninewa, is 405 km north of Baghdad.
