Security forces surround provincial building in Salah al-Din

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi army and police forces have been surrounding the provincial building in Salah al-Din for two days. The forces prevented civil servants who work in the building from reaching their offices. “The forces told us to go back home until legal issues related to dismissing the Salah al-Din Gov. Mttashar Hussein Ilaiwi are solved,” a source from the building told IraqiNews.com news agency on Monday. On Thursday (Jan. 21, 2010), an Iraqi army force put the provincial building in Salah al-Din under control to execute an order issued by Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki that considered Ilaiwi unauthorized to occupy the governor position. Tikrit, the capital city of Salah al-Din province, lies 175 km north of Baghdad. MH (P) / SS 2
