Iraqi married to Syrian woman arrested in Talafar

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi, married to a Syrian woman, was arrested on Tuesday in northern Talafar as his wife is suspected of having links to armed groups, a police source said. “Intelligence information asserted that a Syrian woman has links to armed groups,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency, noting that a joint force of local police and Special Forces (SWAT) raided the region in Rabiyaa district, north of Talafar. “The forces arrested the husband, an Iraqi, but left the wife as she is pregnant,” he explained, pointing out that the husband, Fahd Hassoun, has links also with armed groups infiltrating from Syria into Iraq. Talafar is 60 km northwest of Mosul, which lies 405 km north of Baghdad. SH (P)/SR 2
