3 cops killed, wounded in police fight in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: One policeman was killed and two others were injured in a clash between personnel from the emergency and the criminal investigation police in Kirkuk, a local police director said on Wednesday. “The fight took place in Tareeq Baghdad area, downtown Kirkuk,” Brig. Sarhad Qadir told IraqiNews.com news agency. An investigation is currently underway, the official noted, providing no information about the reasons for the fight. Kirkuk, an oil-rich and mixed city of Kurds, Turkmen, Christians and Arabs, lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SS (P)/SR 2
