CBI dollar sales down this week

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) dollar sales went down this week because of the Arbaeen visit to reach $569.082 million compared to 626.489 million last week. “The demand hit $29.530 million in cash this week compared to 24.900 million last week, covered at exchange rate of 1,183 Iraqi dinars per dollar, and $539.552 million in foreign transfers outside the country, compared to 601.589 last week, covered at an exchange rate of 1,173 Iraqi dinars per dollar,” according to a CBI news bulletin received by IraqiNews.com news agency. None of the banks that participated in this week’s session offered to sell dollars. The Central Bank of Iraq runs a daily auction from Sunday to Thursday. SH (P) 1
