Assassination network leader captured in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) on Sunday arrested the leader of an armed network specialized in assassinations in the city of Mosul, according to a local security source in Ninewa. “Iraqi SWAT forces in Talafar arrested today (Feb. 7) a leader of a network of armed men specialized in assassinations in the Sheishan neighborhood, Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The arrested man,named Moussa Elias Qara Pash, is a local resident of Talafar, (60 km) northwest of Mosul, and is leading an active network of assassinations in the villages of Rubaia’a district, northern Talafar,” he added. The source noted that the arrest took place upon accurate intelligence tip-offs without any clashes, adding Pash is now remanded under investigative custoday. Mosul, the capital city of the volatile province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P)/SR 1
