Iranian consul says Kurdistan springboard for attacks on Iraq

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The Iranian consul in Iraq‘s Kurdistan on Tuesday said that some hostile forces use the northern region as a launch pad for attacks on his country. This came during a press conference held at the headquarters of the Iranian consulate in Arbil, marking the 31 st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. “Hostile forces use the Kurdistan region to launch attacks on Iran and Iranian artillery strike back,” Adheem al-Husseini said in reference to offensives launched by the Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK). “There is a joint committee comprised of representatives of the Islamic Republic (of Iran) and the Kurdistan region to reach a mechanism to stop the shelling of border areas in the region,” the consul added.
