6 wanted persons arrested in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Six wanted men were arrested on Wednesday in separate areas of Kirkuk, according to the Kirkuk Districts’ Police Department (KDPD) chief. “A joint campaign of police and army forces, backed by U.S. troops, managed to arrested six wanted men, according to Article 4 terrorism, murder and kidnapping citizens,” Brig. Sarhad Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The arresting campaign includes regions in west, south and southwest of Kirkuk, including villages belong to al-Huwaiyja district,” he added. “The operation came to secure these regions before the next month elections,” the brigadier explained. The oil-rich Kirkuk, a city of mixed Arab, Kurdish and Turkmen population, lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SH (P) 1
