Missile set for firing seized near Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Policemen seized a rocket that was ready for firing in southwestern Kirkuk on Friday, according to a source from the city’s Joint Coordination Center. “Police patrol found an anti-armor rocket with its pad in the area of al-Wassiti neighborhood in southwestern Kirkuk,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The al-Muqdad police station patrol as well as criminal evidence and bomb squad personnel detonated the rocket without incident,” he added. The oil-rich Kirkuk, a city of mixed Kurdish, Arab and Turkmen population, lies 250 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
