Kurdish Parl. to hold extraordinary session to pass budget

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The Parliament of Iraq’s Kurdistan region will hold an extraordinary session next week to approve the region’s budget for the current year, a parliamentary source said on Wednesday. “The parliamentary committees have submitted their reports on the Kurdistan region’s general budget bill,” the head of the parliamentary legal committee, Shirwan al-Haydari, told IraqiNews.com news agency. On January 19, 2010, the prime minister of Iraq’s Kurdistan region, Barham Saleh, announced his government’s approval of the budget bill, totaling 11.433 trillion Iraqi dinars (nearly $9.7 billion U.S. dollars).
