Iran closing in on U.S. at political, field levels – MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi legislator from al-Iraqiya Alliance bloc said on Friday that the United States is being closed in on by Iran both at the political and field levels. “Iran is circumscribing the U.S. presence in Iraq from all directions. Politically, the Iranian influence managed to win a round on the issue of persons banned from running in the forthcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections, while at the field level the U.S. embassy has been coming under direct fire for four days in a row,” Hussein al-Falluji told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The U.S. presence in Iraq is not one with a carte blanche. There is a party (Iran) that is working on pushing back that U.S. presence,” Falluji added.
