Journalistic association expresses dismay at attack on journalist

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Association to Defend Journalists’ Rights has expressed dismay at an attack that targeted an Iraqi journalist in Baghdad earlier this week. “Midyal al-Riakby, a director in al-Mahabba Radio station, was shot by unknown gunmen who were driving a car on Matar al-Muthanna St. on Thursday (Feb. 18),” a statement released by the association and received by IraqiNews.com news agency quoted a media spokesperson for the association, Nadhem al-Akeely, as saying.
