Maliki reveals intention to form coalition after elections

BAGHDAD /Iraqi News Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has announced his intention to form a coalition with the Kurdistan Alliance (KA) after the upcoming parliamentary election. “This is significant for the formation of a majority coalition, which is necessary for the formation of a government,” Maliki said in response to a question about plans to form a coalition with the Kurdish alliance. Parliamentary election is scheduled to take place in Iraq on March 7 to choose 325 members of the new parliament. Nearly 19 million Iraqis are expected to go to the polls in 18 Iraqi provinces.
