Preliminary vote results in Diala in Iraqiya’s favor

 DIALA /Iraqi News Initial results of vote counting in the province of Diala showed the former Iraqi Premier Iyad Allawi’s al-Iraqiya bloc taking the lead, according to the semi-official TV al-Iraqiya. Allawi’s coalition registered the highest votes so far garnering 42,648 votes, followed by the Iraqi National Coalition with 10,645 votes and then incumbent Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s Dawlat al-Qanoon , or State of Law, bloc with 10,119 votes, according to al-Iraqiya correspondent. “These votes are just 17% of the total data registered so far,” he added.
