Kurdish president, new Turkish consul meet on ties

ARBIL /Iraqi News President of Iraq‘s Kurdistan Massoud al-Barazani has met with the new Turkish consul in the region to discuss means of boosting mutual relations, a presidential statement said on Saturday. “Before noon, Barazani received in the Salah al-Din resort the new Turkish consul in the region on the occasion of taking up office…,” according to the statement, which was received by Iraqi News. The two officials have discussed the relations between the Kurdistan region and Turkey. Barazani has praised the role of the Turkish ambassador in Iraq, calling on the consul to further enhance bilateral relations with Iraq. SS (P) 1
