Mosque preacher killed in Mosul

NINEWA /Iraqi News The imam and preacher of a mosque in the city of Mosul was shot dead by unidentified gunmen right after he finished the evening prayers in al-Zahraa neighborhood, eastern Mosul city, on Sunday, a local security source said. “Sheikh Dawoud al-Anzi, the imam and preacher of Habibana al-Mustafa mosque in al-Zahraa, was showered with bullets by unidentified gunmen near his home,” the source told Iraqi News. “Sheikh Anzi drew his last at the hospital to which he was rushed after the attack,” he said, not giving more information about the incident. Mosul, the capital city of the violence-ridden province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P) 2
